Minister of State Prasanna Ranaweera Causes Chaos at BIA: Threatens Security, Slaps Porter, and Pays Rs 700 for Rs 1000 Charge – VIDEO

It is reported that Mr. Prasanna Ranaweera, Minister of State for Small and Medium Enterprise Development, has attacked a porter who transports passengers’ luggage at Katunayake Airport. Sri Lanka Latest News

Airport sources also say that Ranaweera State Minister has threatened a few security personnel.

The Minister of State for Small and Medium Enterprise Development Mr. Prasanna Ranaweera went to Katunayake Airport on the morning of the 14th with his wife and the minister’s bodyguards to send his wife abroad.

Sources at the airport stated that the state minister tried to enter the airport through the main gate along with the minister’s bodyguards with firearms.

At that time, the airport security officials told the state minister that they could not allow the firearms belonging to the minister’s bodyguards to be carried.

With that, he is said to have scolded the airport guards.

Airport sources also said that State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera attacked the porter who was carrying the luggage of the State Minister’s wife.

It is said that an incident in which he protested against the Minister of State giving him a sum of Rs. 700 against the background that the signs at the airport stated that a service porter should be paid Rs. 1,000 is said to have led to the attack.

After slapping the porter, the state minister left the airport premises and the porter who was a resident of Kurunegala went to the airport police to complain about the incident.

Due to the absence of the OIC at that time, the police officials informed the porter to return the next morning, but for whatever reason, he did not go to the police after that.

We made an inquiry to the State Minister Mr. Prasanna Ranaweera regarding the incident.

“I was angry at the time. I called and pulled him aside. I slap his ear, that’s true.”
