It is reported that although the Minister of Ports and Maritime Affairs Nimal Siripala de Silva has announced that it has been decided to reduce the price of air tickets, no company has yet taken steps to reduce the price of air tickets.
In this regard, when we inquired from several agencies that sell air tickets, they said that the price of air tickets has not been reduced.
However, the minister stated that the decision was taken after discussing with the ticket sales companies.
Accordingly, we are of the opinion that the minister should make a public statement about the reduced air ticket fee and where the tickets can be obtained.
