Management Committee Reviews Fundraising Strategies for ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Initiative

The Management Committee of the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund—established on the instructions of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to support the country’s recovery following Cyclone Ditva—convened this morning (03) at the Presidential Secretariat. The meeting was held under the patronage of the Committee’s Chairman, Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando.

Extensive discussions were held regarding the continued collection of funds needed to rebuild all areas devastated by the cyclone. Sri Lanka Latest News.

Accordingly, attention was directed toward identifying strategic measures for fundraising and exploring the involvement of foreign ambassadors, international organizations, and expatriate workers.

The committee also examined several issues related to securing support from state institutions, private-sector entities, and individuals for the national rebuilding effort.

The convener of the Management Committee, Senior Additional Secretary to the President Mr. Russell Aponso, along with other members comprising representatives from both the government and private sectors, were also present at the meeting.
