A 54-year-old man was arrested this morning while taking photographs of the Italian Embassy on Jawatta Road, Kurunduwatta. The arrest was made by a team of Special Task Force officers on patrol, who discovered that he was carrying a 700-page book filled with photographs of prominent landmarks around Colombo and its suburbs, according to Kurunduwatta Police.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was also in possession of a book containing notes of dialogues with dignitaries, including his responses, as well as a diary, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle.

Preliminary police inquiries indicate that he previously engaged in business with his brother at Menin Market in Pettah, Colombo, but was reportedly removed from these activities around six months ago.

The suspect, a resident of Yagodamulla in Kotugoda, has been handed over to the Kurunduwatta Police for further investigation.
