“Maldives – Sri Lanka Bilateral Trade & Investment session” at the National Chamber

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is organizing bilateral trade & investment discussion between Sri Lanka & Maldives on Thursday, 18 May 2023 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the National Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10. High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ali Faiz will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Commercial Counsellor.

The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the High Commissioner of Maldives. Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Male, Maldives and Maldives National Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MNCCI) in Maldives is also expected to connect virtually during the event.

The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss on the current trade environment, investment opportunities/ services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Sri Lanka’s Main Exports to Maldives:
Insulated wire, cable; Vegetables, fresh or chilled; Iron and Steel and articles thereof; Miscellaneous edible Preparations; Wheat or meslin flour; Dairy produce: birds; Tanning or dying extracts; Beverages, spirits and vinegar; Sweet biscuits- in retail packaging; Electric panel boards; Plastics and articles thereof; Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal; Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; Apparel; Tea; Aluminium and articles thereof; Meat and edible meat; Cartons, boxes and other packing containers of paperboard; Aircraft, spacecraft, and parts thereof etc.

Sri Lanka’s Main Imports from Maldives
Fish, dried, salted or in brine; smoked fish; Fish fillets and other fish meat; Live fish; Iron and Steel and articles thereof; Animal food; Liquified Petroleum Gas etc.
