There was a long discussion about the political situation in Sri Lanka and there was a very successful discussion regarding the alliance being prepared by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and bilateral issues.
A number of steps forward in the discussion are to be implemented within the next few months.
The former President, who engaged in a productive discussion with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the State Department, Mrs. Afrin Akhtar, also expressed his appreciation for the generous support shown to Sri Lanka.
Mr. Sajinda Vas Gunawardena, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Dr. Chamila Liyanage, Member of the Central Committee of Sri Lanka, President of Sri Lanka Professionals’ Organization participated in this discussion.
