The MP also said that the International Monetary Fund has informed about the inefficiency and corruption of the customs.
The MP said that the expected revenue from customs this year is 1217 billion rupees, but so far only 655 billion has been received.
He said that even though Sri Lanka has stopped importing vehicles, there are new vehicles in the market and even new vehicles such as BMW, Montero etc. manufactured in 2020 will be sold in this way.
The MP said that even after the ban, these vehicles have come out of customs and questioned the purpose of the customs in this situation.
