The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the United States, in collaboration with well-known American humanitarian organizations, has come a long way to provide free medicines and medical supplies to Sri Lanka from July to October 2022.
So far, three consignments of medicines have been sent to the Ministry of Health and the fourth is scheduled to be landed on October 2nd. The total value of the 4 drug stocks is USD. Over 12,645,150. At today’s exchange rate, this is approximately 4.6 billion Sri Lankan Rupees (exactly Rs. 4,588,925,697).
Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States Mr. Mahinda Samarasinghe, who engaged with donor organizations in the United States earlier this year, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Heart to Heart International, Hope Worldwide and Americares for their generosity towards hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankans in dire need. The ambassador also intends to continue to work with humanitarian organizations and agencies to get assistance for the country’s vulnerable populations.
Beginning in July 2022, Heart to Heart International will donate USD Two aid packages worth 9.131 million have been sent to Sri Lanka. The value of aid sent to Colombo by Americares in September was USD More than 773,000 million.
