LPL starts today! The first match between Jaffna Kings-Colombo Strikers! I Sri Lanka Latest News

The fourth phase of the Sri Lanka Premier League cricket tournament in which local and foreign cricket stars will participate is scheduled to start from today (30).Sri Lanka Latest News

The first match at the R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo will be between last season’s champions Jaffna Kings and Colombo Strikers.

The Ceylon Premier League cricket tournament consisting of 24 matches is scheduled to be held till August 20.

Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Aura, Galle Titans and Be Love Candy are the 5 teams that will compete in this tournament.

12 preliminary round matches will be held at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo and 8 preliminary round matches will be held at Pallekele Stadium.

The final three matches and the final are scheduled to be held at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

The trophy awarded to this year’s champions was displayed in areas around Colombo yesterday and it is special that the LPL trophy awarded to this year’s champions is made from recycled aluminum cans.

That, using 2,523 aluminium cans found on the beaches.

This is the first time that a cricket trophy has been created through a recycling process.

The grand opening ceremony of the LPL tournament will be held today at 5.30 pm at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
