Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader, stated today (16) that when the successor  president was chosen, pohottuwa MPs were given various benefits and concessions. These are examples of corruption and irregularities, and a cabinet paper has even been submitted in order to continue the irregularities in the form of concessions.

At a time when our country is facing an economic, social, and political disaster, the current prime minister has presented an unusual cabinet paper in which it is proposed to implement the number of facilities provided to MPs over the next few months.

It also states that MPs were given the opportunity to participate in the appointment of the successor president without restriction, and that these opportunities will be maintained. MPs have access to oil facilities, driving facilities, and even transportation.

He also claimed that instead of providing nutritional rations to children and women in the country, the country’s malnutrition rate has skyrocketed.

The National People’s Assembly-Organization Women’s activists meeting was held today (16) at the opposition leader’s office in Colombo, and the opposition leader stated this while present.
