Preliminary approval has been given to set up an international school, a hospital of international standards, a financial center and a tourist hotel of international standards in the Colombo Port City.
The international school, which can cater to about 1,000 students, is a project of about USD 40 million.
The 1,000-bed international hospital is an investment of USD 105 million.
The International Financial Center is a USD 500 million investment and construction is scheduled to begin in the next three months.
It was reported that about USD 14 million will be spent for the initial construction of a five-star hotel named Marina Hotel which is an investment by the reputed firm LOLC.
Accordingly, the total investment value is about USD 650.9 million.
