Police Media Spokesperson Nihal Thalduwa announced that the vehicle used by Lohan Ratwatte had been equipped with fake number plates.
The spokesperson revealed that the vehicle had neither been legally imported through customs nor registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Consequently, the vehicle was deemed to be an illegally assembled one, leading to the arrest of Lohan Ratwatte.
