According to the Election Commission, the local government elections will take place before March 10.
Its chairman, Mr. Nimal Punchihewa, an attorney at law, stated that preliminary plans are being made for this.
He also stated that the gazette notice for the local government election nominations will be issued before the 5th of next month.
The Chairman also stated that the names of the elected members will be published in the Gazette before March 20.
