Lankadeepa lied about Bill Gates visiting Sri Lanka! The newspaper  is boosting owner Ruwan Wijayawardana’s image!

According to reports, the news published on the Lankadeepa website under the headline that well-known businessman Mr. Bill Gates is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka next year is completely false.

According to the news, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has focused on holding an international renewable energy conference in the middle of next year, and the President has handed over all arrangements to Mr. Eric Solheim, the President’s senior advisor, and Mr. Ruwan Wijayawardena, the President’s international advisor on climate change.

Bill Gates to Sri Lanka next year

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is focused on holding an international renewable energy conference in the middle of next year.

The President has entrusted Mr. Eric Solheim, the International Advisor on Climate Change, and Mr. Ruwan Wijayawardena, the President’s Senior Advisor, to arrange all the related arrangements.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe has informed Mr. Eric Solheim to invite a number of leaders engaged in the world’s renewable energy sector to Sri Lanka. Senior Adviser to the President on Climate Change Mr. Ruwan Wijayawardena stated that he has planned to develop renewable energy in the country in consultation with the officials of the main institutions coming to the conference. It has also been decided to invite Mr. Bill Gates, a world-renowned businessman, to Sri Lanka and start a climate change management program together with him. In addition, it has also been decided to present the Climate Change Act to Parliament in the first quarter of next year
