Lanka Metro Transit (Pvt) Ltd, a newly established entity aimed at strengthening Sri Lanka’s urban public transport system, officially commenced its administrative operations today (October 8).
The company, formed as an urban transport service provider, seeks to streamline and modernize public transportation across major city corridors through integrated and multimodal transport solutions.
According to officials, Lanka Metro Transit is preparing to launch its transport operations by the middle of next year. The company is currently finalizing the necessary infrastructure and operational frameworks to support this initiative.
It is expected that this new entity will deliver a more efficient and convenient transport experience for commuters in Sri Lanka’s busy urban areas.
