Accordingly, Haldummulla Divisional Secretary that the people of Koslanda Miriyabedda old earth slip location and the nearby area were evacuated like according to Ms J. Priyangika divisional secretary Haldamulla.
With the on-going torrential rains, there was a risk of landslides around those areas.
One hundred and forty-four families of Koslanda Miriyabedda have been temporarily evacuated to Koslanda Tea Factory, twenty-three families of Mahakanda to Malvanna Tea Factory, eighty-one families of Divulgasamulla to Koslanda Sinhala College and Koslanda Tamil College.
