Landslide warnings have been issued in four districts due to heavy rainfall in many parts of the island.
Accordingly, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale and Kandy districts have been warned about landslides.
The people of Mawanella in Kegalle district, Ridhigama in Kurunegala district, Pallepola in Matale district, Ukuwela, Laggala Pallegama, Ratthota and Naula have been told to be aware of landslides.
The National Building Research Organization says the areas have received over 75mm of rain in the last 24 hours, so if the rain continues, be aware of the risk of landslides, slope collapse, rock fall, and earth collapse.
