The budget prepared by the ruling party of the Kurunegal Municipal council, Podujana Peramuna ( pohottuwa), for the year 2023 was defeated by seven votes today.
Mr. Thushara Sanjeewa Witharana, the mayor of Kurunagala, presented the budget at today’s special council meeting held at the municipal meeting hall.
This is the final budget proposed by the ruling Podujana Peramuna before the end of their term in office.
Seven members voted in favour of the budget, while fourteen opposed it, resulting in the proposal’s rejection.
