Yesterday (06) afternoon, Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella gave a signed written statement to the authorities of the Prisons Department that he will not participate in the Parliamentary Assembly held on 07 due to his ill health.
The Fifth Session of the Ninth Parliament will be ceremoniously declared open by President Ranil Wickremesinghe this morning.
The Parliament was prorogued with effect from midnight on January 26, by way of a proclamation published in the government gazette.
