The People’s Struggle Movement protested in front of the main bus station with several demands including burden of living, tax burden, electricity bill, terrorism act and arrest of protestors.

Since morning, special police security was deployed in and around Kalutara city and many police teams were deployed around the place where the protest was held.

During the protest in the hot sun, several protesters sat on the ground holding placards, and two of their supporters brought a tent cloth for the protesters.

A heated situation arose between the protestors and the police when they went to take the tent fabric that had been brought into police custody.

After a heated situation with the people who brought the tent cloth and those who supported it, a large group of police officers took the tent cloth and four people to the Kalutara South Police.
