The road near the Kaikawala bridge—located at the 28th kilometer mark on the Hunnasgiriya–Meemure road—has been temporarily closed, according to Sri Lanka Latest News.
Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatte announced that vehicular movement over the bridge has been suspended due to an emergency situation that arose during renovation work being carried out by the Road Development Authority.
As a precautionary measure, the public is advised to avoid traveling to Meemure for recreational visits or any other purposes until further notice.
