Tamil Nadu chief minister Starline accused the PM Modi’s government is weak and does not look in to the benefit of the nation addressing a fishermen’s forum recently. He further noted Katchatheevu Island, which was ceded to Sri Lanka by way of an agreement in 1974, must be retrieved.
He said his father former Chief Minister of TN too submitted a claim to the government that Katchatheevu Island belongs to India. DMK president Starlines these accusation on the Prime Minister and the government comes days after the PM said that the current DMK government in Tamil Nadu keeps writing to him urging to retrieve the island.
Stalin further alleged that attacks on Indian fishermen from the state by the Lankan navy have increased during the current NDA regime.
The conference condemned the harassment of and attacks on Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy.
