The Kaduwela Police have confirmed that the Judicial Service Commission has taken action to seal the official chamber of Ms. Chanima Wijebandara, the former Magistrate of the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

According to police sources, Ms. Wijebandara was granted permission to visit the court premises on Monday (19) to collect her personal belongings from the sealed room.

Police further stated that arrangements have been made to provide continuous security for the room until her visit is concluded.

The decision to seal the official chamber comes in light of ongoing investigations initiated by the Judicial Service Commission, based on several complaints received against Ms. Wijebandara.

It has also been reported that, in connection with this development, all judicial activities and official duties at the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court have been temporarily suspended.
