It is no longer possible to evade taxes after this! A red light for the alcohol-cigarette industry! from SJB!

Samagi Jana Balawegaya has decided to introduce a new tax system for alcohol and cigarettes under a future government under the proper tax rules.

Currently, alcohol and cigarettes are taxed at a very low rate compared to other goods.

Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa also revealed this in a special statement in Parliament yesterday.

It has been alleged by many that these alcohol cigarette manufacturers are working to make a very high profit by giving boons, privileges, pleasures to certain officials and various ministers of the finance ministries of the respective governments and thus imposing taxes at a low percentage.

It has been learned that these companies have been working in such a manner throughout the past period, and the Samagi Jana Balawega MPs are ready to make many special disclosures about it in the future.
