Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said that there is no constitutional impediment to holding an election and there is only one obstacle.
The opposition leader said that the obstacle is the government’s fear that the result of the election will cause it to collapse, so taking the government to an election is like taking a rabid dog to bathe.
The opposition leader, who said not to mislead the country about the dissolution of the parliament, outlined the articles of the constitution regarding holding an election.
Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa further said that the Prime Minister is making a misleading statement regarding the dissolution of Parliament, the people, and the country, and it is a completely false statement.
