QatarEnergy CEO Saad al-Kaabi stated that recent attacks by Iran on Qatar have damaged facilities responsible for 17% of the company’s liquefied natural gas export capacity. In remarks to Reuters on Thursday (March 19), he noted that repairs to the affected infrastructure are expected to take between three and five years.
Al-Kaabi expressed shock over the incident, stating that he had never imagined Qatar and the wider region would face such an attack—particularly from what he described as a “brotherly Muslim country” during the holy month of Ramadan.
