The Department of Census and Statistics says that the overall rate of inflation as measured by CCPI on y-o-y basis in August is 64.3%.
According to the Department, the overall rate of inflation is 64.3% in August 2022 and the CCPI inflation, on an y-o-y basis which was calculated for the month of July 2022 was 60.8%.
The Year on Year inflation of Food Group increased to 93.7% in August 2022 from 90.9% in July 2022 and the Year on Year inflation of Non Food Group increased to 50.2% in August 2022 from 46.5% in July 2022.
The month on month change was contributed by increases of Food items by 0.83% and Non-Food items by 1.62% respectively.
