The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today that indictments have been filed against former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga and his brother, Dhammika Ranatunga. The indictments concern an alleged loss of nearly Rs. 800 million to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, reportedly caused by the purchase of petroleum through spot tenders at inflated prices.
The Bribery Commission made this disclosure when the case was called before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today (22).
