Indian Vice President Sri C.P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (19) on an official visit.
The Indian Vice President, who is arriving today, is expected to remain in the country until tomorrow (20).
During the visit, he is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasooriya, as part of the recent high-level diplomatic engagements between Sri Lanka and India.
In addition, he is also expected to attend several events and meet with political and community leaders, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Ministry further stated that several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be exchanged between the two countries during the visit, with a focus on strengthening cooperation, including rehabilitation and development projects in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditva.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Police has implemented a special traffic plan in view of the Indian Vice President’s official visit to the country today.
Accordingly, the Vice President, who is arriving from Katunayake International Airport this morning, is scheduled to travel to the Taj Samudra Hotel in Galle Face in a VIP motorcade. Police said a special traffic plan will be in operation in the relevant areas during that time.
Thereafter, the Indian Vice President is expected to travel from the hotel to the Presidential Secretariat, and traffic restrictions will also be in place in that area, police added.
It was further stated that a special traffic plan will also be implemented in the areas along the route of the VIP motorcade carrying the Indian Vice President the day after tomorrow.
