The first case of the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), which is currently spreading in China, has been detected in India.
According to reports from foreign media, an eight-month-old baby in Bangalore has tested positive for the virus.
Medical experts have stated that HMPV primarily impacts the lungs and respiratory system, posing a higher risk to young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
Despite the concern, Indian health specialists have reassured that the virus is unlikely to pose a serious threat at this stage.
