India has extended a powerful message of solidarity and compassion to Sri Lanka as Cyclone Ditwah leaves a trail of devastation across the island. In a heartfelt message, India conveyed condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wished strength and swift recovery to all those affected by the cyclone’s destructive impact.

Reaffirming the bond between the two maritime neighbours, India has swiftly launched Operation Sagar Bandhu, dispatching urgent relief materials and critical Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) support to Sri Lanka. Officials confirmed that additional aid will be mobilised as the situation continues to unfold.

Highlighting India’s long-standing foreign policy commitments—Neighbourhood First and Vision MAHASAGAR—the message underscored that India stands firmly with Sri Lanka during this difficult hour, ready to assist in every possible way.

(Original X message can be attached below this.)

My heartfelt condolences to the people of Sri Lanka who have lost their loved ones due to Cyclone Ditwah. I pray for the safety, comfort and swift recovery of all affected families.

In solidarity with our closest maritime neighbour, India has urgently dispatched relief…
