Mattakkuliya Police say that a group of unknown people who came from a three-wheeler attacked a person with sharp weapons on Kelani Ganga Mola Road, Mattakkuliya.
Mohammad Sudur Mohammad Irfard, a 39-year-old resident of Mattakkuliya Kelani Ganga Mola Road, was killed.
Police say that the deceased was assaulted in front of his house and the suspects ran away.
The seriously injured person died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
It has now been revealed that a dispute has led to this murder and the police say that they have also identified the people who came for the murder.
A senior police officer said that a special police team has been deployed to arrest the suspects. Mattakulia police are investigating.
