Asgiri Chapter deputy registrar Reverend Narampanawe Ananda Thero says that racist fanatical Tamil politicians and extremist groups are protesting against the sacred places in the North-East.
He points out that this is a planned process to create a racial conflict.
Recently, it seems that there have been serious protests against Buddhist shrines and archeological sites in the North and East. There is a serious suspicion that some politicians suffering from racist mania and those extremist organizations are protesting these places in a very planned manner with the desire to create a racist and religious crisis in the country. Mediation is occurring in all people.
The most recent incident is when a number of Siamese monks and a Buddhist delegation landed in Trincomalee, the historical place where these Sri Lankan elites met 270 years ago. Some university student groups of these Tamil racist organizations had come to this place and presented a serious protest. If the government does not work to curb this situation, there is no way to prevent the creation of a serious religious and other national crisis in the country.
Ananda Thero of Narampana further points out that the current government is also working without paying attention to this.
Today, no one in the current government is talking about this issue. We can see that the current government, even in the appointment of governors, is currently working in such a way as to prejudice the Sinhala Buddhist people. Therefore, the Buddhist heritage of the North-East should be protected.
Also, we would like to strongly remind the government that in order to work together religiously not only for the Buddhists across the country, but for the religious harmony of all, such extremist organizations and fundamentalist religious groups should be curbed and the law should be implemented seriously and the law should be enforced. Or, with this background, the Sinhala Buddhist people of this country are organized and standing against this. If there is any problem related to the crisis that will arise on such a day, the current government will definitely have to be responsible for it.
