The Director of the Financial and Commercial Crime Investigation Division of Police, Mr. V. Lawrance is transferred to Police Field Force Headquarters with immediate effect by the Inspector General of Police.
Mr. Lawrence is considered to be a distinguished officer who worked in financial crime investigation division.
He is also known as an officer who fearlessly came forward to protect the reputation of the police by starting investigations against a senior official in connection with a case of bribery in the Undial case.
Police sources indicate that it is suspected that this transfer took place due to pressure from higher circles.
