The International Monetary Fund has identified coal usage as a contributing factor to the recent increase in electricity tariffs, according to Sri Lanka Latest News.
Speaking at a press conference held yesterday, IMF representative Evans Papargio highlighted that reliance on coal is among the reasons behind the rising electricity costs.
