A formal complaint has been lodged with the Human Rights Commission, alleging that numerous university students may be deprived of their right to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
According to Commissioner General Nimal Punchihewa, the complaint was submitted by the PAFRAL organization.
The complaint highlights concerns that students from Jaffna, Ruhuna, and Kelaniya universities are particularly affected by this issue.
Commissioner Punchihewa indicated that discussions will be held with university chancellors to address the concerns and seek appropriate solutions.
