Sri Lanka Latest News
The relevant complaints have been submitted by specialist Dr. Chamal Sanjeeva and specialist Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara.
The complaint has indicated that the Ministry of Health has published a document for the appointment of hospital directors in violation of state administrative circulars without mentioning the names of some of the hospital directors who had been qualified, including himself, who had been called for the interview for the appointment of new hospital directors.
Accordingly, they have requested the Public Service Commission to immediately investigate the injustice that has happened and do justice to them.
It is said that it is a general tradition that hospital directors are appointed based on the marks obtained after the interview, and if there is any investigation related to the hospital directors concerned, the marks obtained and the order of the marks are published and the appointment is only temporarily delayed.
Although the Ministry of Health has so far made appointments of hospital directors and doctors under the same system, for the first time in history, this system has been changed by removing the names of several doctors including Dr. Chamal Sanjeeva, Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara, who were the most qualified in the first interviews, and adding the names of doctors who were less qualified than them. It is reported that the secretary Palitha Mahipala issued letters on 01/06/2024.
Thus, calling them for the interview and not publishing the appointment document based on the order of qualification, considering them differently, despite being qualified for the interview, is a deliberate personal vendetta, so they requested the Civil Service Commission to immediately conduct an investigation and take legal action in this regard. It has also been mentioned that the court will take action in this regard.
