Dr. Rasanjali Hettiarachichi, director of the HIV AIDS programme, reported that approximately 600 people had been diagnosed with HIV this year.
She claimed that the majority of those identified in this manner are between the ages of 18 and 45 and are addicted to narcotics, particularly ice.
