Hiruni Malsha Kumaratunga Emerges Island’s Top Performer in GCE  O/L Exam

Hiruni Malsha Kumaratunga, a student of Sanghamitta Girls’ College in Galle, has secured the top rank in the island in this year’s General Certificate of Education (GCE) O/L examination.

According to the Department of Examinations, second place was jointly awarded to Kuluni Metsara of Musaeus College, Colombo, and Vimansa Jayanadhi Ratnaweera of Maliyadeva Girls’ College, Kurunegala.

Three female students have shared the fourth position island-wide. The Department of Examinations confirmed that Seshani Sehansa Jayawardena of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, Metuki Chamodi Perera of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, and Nadun Pamudita Ranawaka of Sanghamitta Girls’ College, Galle, have all achieved this rank.

Additionally, four students have tied for the seventh position. They are Nemdini Wonara Adhikari of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, Thatsara Kavindi of Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha, Tamashi Dhananjana Wickrama of Sri Sumangala Girls’ School, Panadura, and Sakuna Sadeeshan Samaravikrama of Rahula Vidyalaya, Matara.
