A high-level investigation has been initiated to probe the properties and assets of former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, sources report.
As part of this inquiry, investigation teams have reportedly begun extensive questioning of businessmen and associates who have maintained close ties with Mr. Rajapaksa in recent times.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that security forces are conducting detailed investigations into all assets linked to Mr. Basil Rajapaksa.
In a related development, Mr. Wimal Weerawansa recently provided a statement to the Criminal Investigation Department concerning the assets of Mr. Rajapaksa.
