The Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre predicts heavy showers exceeding 100 mm in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western, and Central Provinces of the island after 2 p.m. today.

Favorable atmospheric conditions are anticipated for afternoon thundershowers across most parts of the island. Additionally, several spells of showers are expected in the Eastern, Uva, and Southern Provinces during the morning hours.

Misty conditions may prevail in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts in the morning.

In the sea areas off the coast from Trincomalee to Galle via Batticaloa and Hambantota, showers are forecasted. Showers are also likely in a few areas off the coast from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo during the afternoon or night.

Winds are predicted to be easterly or variable with speeds of up to 30 kmph, while sea conditions around the island are expected to be slight to moderate.
