Hayleys PLC announced plans to establish a nationwide retail chain with an initial network of 100 outlets, marking a major step in the Group’s diversification into the retail sector.
In a statement released through its public relations agency, Hayleys said the initiative reflects its strategy to “bring quality, reliability and service excellence closer to everyday Sri Lankan consumers” while redefining the modern retail experience.
“Hayleys is uniquely positioned to build a value-driven retail ecosystem across the island, leveraging its extensive reach across value chains, strong brand equity, dynamic leadership, and commitment to sustainable business,” the statement added.
The company said the first 100 outlets will be strategically located across key urban and suburban areas, aligning with the Group’s long-term growth vision.
Hayleys noted that improved macroeconomic conditions and evolving consumer lifestyles have created “tremendous potential for growth in the retail sector.”
The Group already has a strong foothold in consumer markets through its ownership of Singer Sri Lanka, a leading consumer durables distributor, and its recent acquisition of Harishchandra Mills, a well-known producer of household and food products.
