The President had taken steps to come to the island from Male today (18th) morning at around 09:30 a.m. at the Katunayake International Airport.
The most special event witnessed here was that the President went to the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official residence in Wijerama upon his arrival in Sri Lanka and cut a cake to wish him a happy birthday.
Former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa were also present at that event
