Treasury officials, addressing the Committee on Public Finance, have confirmed that the government is on track to meet its projected revenue target of Rs. 450 billion from vehicle imports by the end of the year.
They reported that Rs. 136 billion in revenue has already been generated from vehicle imports during the first five months of the year alone.
In addition, it was revealed that the report from the investigation committee regarding the controversial release of 323 containers from customs is scheduled to be submitted next week.
