The Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, has issued a directive requiring all government institutions to obtain written approval from the President’s Secretariat before using the President’s image or messages on commemorative plaques and special zones for various events.
Additionally, Dr. Kumanayake emphasized that government agencies must align their activities with the government’s policies and vision, particularly when utilizing public funds for such events.
This official notice has been sent in writing to Ministry Secretaries, Provincial Chief Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and leaders of statutory bodies, including government corporations and state-owned companies.
