The Supreme Court has today ordered to cancel the enforcement of the recommendations made against the current President’s Secretary Mr. Saman Ekanayake by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to investigate allegations of political revenge.Sri Lanka Latest News
The commission was chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Upali Abeyratne.
The Supreme Court, which ordered to cancellation of all the recommendations made against Mr Saman Ekanayake, who was the Prime Minister’s Secretary at that time, has also ordered the government to pay an amount of 150,000.00 rupees to Mr. Ekanayake as court fees.
The Supreme Court Bench of Justices Vijit K.Malalgoda, Achala Vengappuli and Arjuna Obeysekera heard this fundamental rights petition and on the advice of Mr. Manjula Balasuriya, President’s Advocate Upul Kumarapperuma and Advocate Sudarshan Gunawardena, Advocate Radha Malavika Kuruvitabandara, Advocate Shalini Weeraratne appeared for President’s Secretary Mr Saman Ekanayake.
