The strike launched by the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has been temporarily suspended from 08:00 a.m. today (06), according to Sri Lanka Latest News.
The Secretary of the Association, Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, stated that the decision to temporarily suspend the strike was taken in light of an opportunity to hold discussions with the Minister next Thursday.
Accordingly, the discussion is scheduled to take place next Thursday following the return of Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, who is leaving the country today (06).
The Government Medical Officers’ Association had initiated the strike based on several demands, including a call to halt the transfer of doctors due to political interference.
