Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that a loan of 5000 rupees has been granted by the relevant estate associations to the Hindu devotees for celebrating Diwali in connection with the estates and due to the current serious economic crisis, the amount is not sufficient at all.
Therefore, on the intervention of the government, they were asked to provide an amount of at least 15,000 rupees to celebrate Diwali.
