The announcement issued by the Irrigation Department today at noon indicates that the water level of the Ging Ganga in the Thavalama area has reached 8.35 meters.
The report further states that the water level of Ging Ganga is also increasing.
Also, by noon today, the water level of Ging Ganga has increased to a slight flood from Baddegama area and its water level is also increasing.
Also, according to the report, Kuda Ganga, a tributary of the Kalu Ganga, has also developed into a major flood situation and its water level continues to rise.
Also, Kalu Ganga from Putupaula, Allagawa, Ratnapura, areas and Maguru Ganga which is a tributary of Kalu Ganga has developed to a minor flood situation in Magura area and its water level is also increasing.
Also, The Nilwala River has developed into a flood situation from Pitabeddara area.
With the heavy rains, the Kelani Ganga has developed into a minor flood from Nagalagamweediya, Hanwella and Glencoes areas and the water level is increasing further from those places.
