Gampaha stalwarts have decided to boycott the rally scheduled to be held in Gampaha Kadawata on the 21st by Minister Prasanna Ranatunga in support of President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
State Ministers Indika Anuruddha and Prasanna Ranaweera have already informed Prasanna Ranatunga that they will not attend the meeting. Additionally, Gampaha Pohottuwa seat organizers have also notified the minister of their decision not to participate.
Minister Prasanna Ranatunga reportedly spoke with the Biyagama Pohottuwa organizer, who refused the invitation, leading to a heated conversation between the two. The Biyagama organizer is said to have recorded this conversation and shared it with party leaders.
Furthermore, out of 19 former local government representatives in Gampaha Pohottuwa, 15 have decided to boycott the meeting.
